The Fraternity and Sorority Life Judicial Board addresses complaints that are unique to the Fraternity & Sorority community, including but not limited to recruitment (rush) violations, failure to meet obligations imposed by the Fraternity and Sorority Life Council, and failure to pay Fraternity and Sorority Life Council dues. When a complaint involves a violation of College policy, the case is instead heard by the standard Judicial Board.
The Fraternity and Sorority Life Judicial Board is composed of four student representatives—two representing different fraternities and two representing different sororities—recognized by the Fraternity and Sorority Life Council, along with the Director of Fraternity & Sorority Life, the Fraternity and Sorority Life Council President, and a faculty Judicial Board member. The faculty member may not serve as the advisor for the organization under review. In any hearing, members belonging to the accused organization do not participate. If the Council President is affiliated with the accused organization, another member of the executive board is appointed to serve in their place. Violators of Fraternity & Sorority Life Recruitment Policies may be subject to disciplinary action under the Student Code of Conduct, the Fraternity and Sorority Life Council, or both.
