General Standards and Procedures for the Functioning of the Committee System
- Faculty appointments to committees are made by the Faculty Conveners and the Academic Dean/Dean of the Faculty acting as a “committee of committees” with the approval of the faculty.
- Presiding clerks of faculty committees are appointed by the committee members during the spring faculty work day meeting, immediately after appointments are finalized.
- Representatives (other than faculty) from the branch campus programs, if called for on committees, are appointed by the Vice President for External Programs.
- Student representatives to committees are appointed by the Vice President for Student Affairs/Dean of Students.
- The administrative and support staff members, unless elected, are appointed by the President.
CAMPUS TREE AND ARBORETUM ADVISORY COMMITTEE

Functions: While responsibility of the campus trees and grounds often ultimately lies with Physical Plant, the Campus Tree and Arboretum Advisory Committee can assist in providing guidance for future planning, approval and updates of a comprehensive campus tree plan, education of the campus population as to the benefits of the campus trees, and development of connectivity to the community. The Committee is responsible for such tasks as renewal of Tree Campus USA certification, celebration of Arbor Day and volunteer tree and ground care events. The Committee may also be used for providing guidance with any aspect of grounds care as requested.

Purpose and functions: Meets quarterly. The Institutional Budget and Strategic Planning Committee at Wilmington College serves an advisory role to support the college's mission and strategic objectives. The committee shall receive and consider periodic reports on the budget and strategic plan and provide advice to the President and Administration.

Appellate Board—to consider appeals of decisions made by the Judicial Board and upholds or denies them. (See Student Handbook for further details.)

To provide a sounding board for the interests, needs, and ideas of the Wilmington College administrative and support staff, to serve as a communications medium for the staff and between the staff and other sectors of the College, and, most importantly, to promote, strengthen, and facilitate a stronger sense of community and mutual support among Wilmington College employees. Depending on the nature of issues under consideration in any given year, the Staff Council may determine that it is best for the support staff council members and the administrative staff members to meet independently.
