9.32 Participation in Criminal and Delinquency Proceedings as Victim

If an employee is a victim of a crime, or is the family member or representative of a victim of a crime, and the employee has been subpoenaed to attend a criminal or delinquency proceeding, the College will provide the employee with unpaid time away from work for the time required to travel and attend the proceeding, provided that the employee: has been ordered by a court of law or a government agency to attend the proceeding; and will be charged with contempt of court or similar legal sanctions if he or she fails to appear.

If an employee is a victim of a crime, or is the family member or representative of a victim of a crime, and a criminal prosecutor has requested the employee’s participation in preparation for a criminal or delinquency proceeding, the College will provide the employee with unpaid time away from work to travel and participate in the preparation provided that the employee can provide a written request from the prosecutor.
