In accordance with Ohio law, all Wilmington College employees are covered by Worker's Compensation for work-related illnesses and injuries. No matter how insignificant an on-the-job injury or illness may seem when it occurs, employees must report any work-related injury or illness to their supervisor immediately (or as soon as practicable if immediate reporting is not possible under the circumstances). Any medical attention received, either from the hospital or from the employee's physician, will be submitted for payment to the Ohio Bureau of Worker's Compensation. The employee must notify medical providers that bills should be submitted to the College's Human Resources Office.
Compensation for time off will be in accordance with the regulations established by the Bureau of Worker's Compensation. The employee must keep Human Resources informed and provide copies to Human Resources of medical paperwork regarding the status of the work-related injury or illness, any work restrictions, and/or a return-to-work date.
All accidents must be reported to the Human Resources Office within 24 hours and an accident report form completed for proper documentation.
